Sorry for the no posting everyone. Things have been hectic RL lately getting thing ready for the upcoming semester and everything else i got going on.

There’s been loootttss of WoW news lately so I’ll get a post up by this weekend I promise!

Hunter Macros… You can Haz them

So In my searching for a new way to spec my marks tree I decided I would post about marks and some of the macros I use with it also one of the macros I use is very helpful for my Surv spec. Now the thing about these 3 macros is that they all have a shot + silencing shot + kill command all in one macro and kill command is only used if your pet is out/yout pet has a target so it’s never wasted. These macros aren’t that hard to find out there on the webz im sure if you do a quick google for hunter macros they might even come up, but I had never seen them before when I was looking for hunter macros. So I felt I had to share them with you all!

I also have a mouseover macro setup for Master’s Call which helps really well on fights like Hodir when you need a quick dispel and a healer hasn’t dispelled you yet.

My final macro I use is great for any hunter really it casts Hunter’s Mark then changes your tracking to the type of mob you just casted mark on.

Yeh.. Lot’s of text on that one, but It works I promise!

Now on to talking about the marks spec I’m working on.

With the new changes to Hunter’s Mark and  the mana reduction to shots that Master Marksman now gives I went back to looking at how I could improve my marks spec for more DPS. I went looking over at EJ to see if I could find the answers to my questions there and I had some success. The thing though was the majority of posts I could find about BEST DPS spec for marks assumes that there’s another hunter in your raid already w/ Imp Hunter’s Marks or Trueshot Aura. Well thankfully we recruited an enhance shammy recently so I was able to give up the Trueshot Aura, but That still left me in the dark on how to spec to get the 3 points I needed for Imp Mark.

Well after some toying around I decided on an 6/58/7 Build I’ve also been contemplating making it like this 7/57/7 or 7/57/7 . The difference in these are that both have 2 points in Focused Fire instead of just 1 and one of the builds has 2 points in Rapid Recup while the other is 1 point in RR and 1 point in Imp Barrage.

I like doing my testing inside of Ulduar to see what kind of real numbers I get I mean the discrepancy in DPS between these 3 builds can’t be alot, but I’m sure one of them does more than the other I just need to find it!

A few tips I want to point out for marks inside Ulduar is that depending on the fight trap dancing is still pretty good DPS. Take for instance Auriaya at the start of the fight and all throughout adds are spawning. Drop explosive trap! I watched myself get a good extra amount of DPS from the explode and the ticking damage I got from hitting her and her cats. Hodir, You’re usually always getting close to that dude on Flash Freezes drop an immo trap every Flash Freeze and watch the DPS go up!

Those are the two easiest fights to get trap dancing working on, but you can get it going preatty easily on the other fights too especially if you used to trap dance you know exactly how it needs to be done. I don’t really recommend this for surv since you want to be using Black Arrow, but on Auriaya I usually use explosive trap WHEN there are multiple adds up and that nets me more DPS in the long run then using BA at that time.

Well I hope these macros and words of advice help all you other hunter’s out there!

Recuiting all… anyone?

So the guild merger Revolution has been contemplating for a few weeks fell through. Apparently both guilds decided it really isn’t what they were looking for to fix their attendance issues.

The sucky thing about this is that now we’re still in the same situation we were in with attendance down and the only apps we’re getting to the guild are baddies :/

So what is our guild to do with a random 10 man guild forming everyday taking up possible recruits who might be good? We could spam trade like all the 10 man guilds who sprout up are doing but then you get a bad rep because you recruit out of trade. We could spam the server forums(which we’re doing) and supposedly the other options of the guild recruitment forums and guild recruitment sites are being explored and posted on by the guild officers.

The fact is Revolution was one of the most respected guilds on Medivh-US before they server transferred to Garrosh-US and ever since then apparently people have stopped playing the game, left for other guilds, and have even left with other members to make 10 man guilds. One of the officers have even said everytime we gain 1 good person we lose 2.

What can Revo as a guild offer to the player base that other guilds can’t? It’s not like we’re stuck at the beginning of Ulduar. We started working on p4 Mimiron last night and if people actually show up we’ll probably get him down tonight. Which means we should be able to go work on Vezax and from everything I’ve heard if you’re able to down all the watchers then Vezax is a pushover.

I mean we are a good guild and we have a good player base. The majority of our core roster are skilled players. We just need to find a few more to fix these attendance issues we’re having. It sucks how people show up for the farm content but when it’s time to get to the progression bosses the same people don’t show up. I suppose alot of guilds have that same issue, but unlike a lot of guilds we can’t kick those people because we don’t have a big enough roster to keep going without them /sigh

Revolution is currently ranked 18th on Garrosh-US overall and 7th ranked Horde. We haven’t got to working on hard modes yet because we want to get more of Ulduar down and on farm before we do that. Which in my opinion is completely understandable.

We’re currently looking for active players who can meet this criteria:

Able to raid Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8pm-12am EST.

Have no problem with a DKP bid system

Able to take criticism with no back talk

I mean that’s pretty simple criteria to follow once you a join a new guild. All Revo is asking for is a few good people that will show up, and have fun with us as we progress through Ulduar.

So what a week it’s been huh? Raiding, Hanging out with friends, Going to weddings so much has been going on, but to

all of your delight I have finally found a little time to sit down and start typing up a blog

If you haven’t been paying attention to any WoW news lately you should probably do yourself a favor and head over to WoW.com or Mmo-Champion.com (after you finish reading my blog of course :p) and check out the latest Blue posts and what they have planned for 3.2. I know alot of people are highly excited about the upcoming druid form changes(a few of my friends are actually rerolling lol) I will say that those forms look amazing and are long over due. Tauren was just plain disgusting to look at lol.

I would also like to point out that I love the marks changes. Having the mana reduction on Master Marksman helps a lot. Obviously when playing Marks you need to be watching your mana pool constantly and since the change I found myself not really having to worry about my mana as much. I do think there needs to be more work done to the spec to make it more appealing than SV, but after these changes if you’ve got the right gear for marks then you shouldn’t have any troubles playing it any more imo.

Its also been a pretty good loot week for me as well! I posted earlier on in the week about getting 8.5 legs and since then I’ve gotten Valorous Scourgestalker Handguards, Pyrite Infuser, Shawl of the Shattered Giant(which gave me my Epic achievement), and Razorscale Talon(for my pvp set). Right now the hands and the cloak went immediately into my PvE setup. The pyrite Infuser was in it until the gloves dropped so it went to the sidelines until I pick up a piece w/o hit on it. The infuser has a really good proc so I want to pick it up again soon but there’s no point to be way over hit cap regardless of the proc imo.

Getting the handguards also gave me 2 piece which will give me a little more DPS from serpent sting and hey I can’t complain about extra DPS!

I really wish they would announce some kind of Hunter changes like they’ve been doing for Warriors, Druids, and Shamans. It’s kind of annoying that right after I started my blog that there has been no realy hunter news to discuss :/

Oh well maybe this week something will pop up and I can get a post up about it.

So man last night for raiding was pretty decent for me. We went into Ulduar 25 and even though we spent some time wiping on Thorim (( We moved on and 3 shotted Freya!

After that we do what we normally do at the end of raid night if we control Wintergrasp… and that’s of course go stomp on Emalon and Archavon! Guess who got new 8.5 legs!?

So I have to say I’m pretty happy with how I’ve been getting a decent amount of gear lately and as a side effect of doing 25 man Uld I also have 2 runed orbs now.. 4 more till my belt!

Patch day blues!~

So I was talking to one of my friends the other day who used to play WoW and he stopped because of RL issues among other things he had going on. Well a long story short I got him to come back to Azeroth! We’re going to be doing Recruit a Friend so that we can level fast and this time he’ll be able to see max level. I’ve always wanted a priest alt, but every time I’ve tried to level one I hardly ever get passed level 2 and anything after that was an achievement for me lol.

So there we are .. Low level goodness at it’s finest haha XD My plans for this toon is to be an herbalist and probably alchemist so that I don’t have to shell out cash for elixirs and flasks… That would be amazing <3

Last night when raid got called we decided to go work on our Ulduar 10 man .. We got down Thorim, Freya, and Hodir! Oh and I totally got me a new bangin chest piece… well at least one that is better than my 10 man t7 XD

Well I bit the bullet and got an Iphone and so far I love it. I hope I will get more followers on here and Twitter so I can make more use of those apps I have!

–WoW News–

Looks like 3.1.3 is going to launch tomorrow with a few different class changes and some nerfs to Mimiron in Ulduar.. not that my guild is doing Mimiron 25 yet, but I’m sure when we are they will help.
Just in case any of you hunters out there missed it here’s what we’re getting.
Hunter’s Mark: The ranged attack power bonus from this ability has been increased from 300 to 500.
Master Marksman: This talent now also decreases the cost of Aimed Shot and Chimera Shot by 5/10/15/20/25%.
Those are some pretty nice buffs to the marks tree if you ask me.. I’m not entirely sure it’s the godsend some of the hunters have been begging for, but it sure is going to work out for the better

First off let me say if you haven’t signed up at gamefuel yet you need to. Badge System
“We have some new things in store for the badge system to help with the current end game progression curve that exists (as you noted: Heroics > Naxx > Ulduar > 3.2 > Icecrown ). We’re looking to put together this information for you and will provide it as soon as it’s ready to go.” Quoted from Zarhym

Imo the old badge system was fine. Who cares you had to farm the same stuff over again so you could get the badges? It allowed you to get the gear from the badges you wanted and if someone actually needed the gear from them you could run them through so they got double the bonus. All these people QQng waaah we don’t wanna do the same stuff cause we don’t need it. It was incentive to do that stuff over again so that you atleast got something for your time w/o needing the instance drops while still helping people who did.

Hunter Arena Representation

Apparently Ghostcrawler thinks hunter representation is low in arena.. Well of course it is all our OP goodies got nerfed last patch .. like the stun on lock and load.. Yeh it was OP .. and it was fun that it was op >:) I agree that needed to be fixed, but what are they going to give us to make up for that? I do think hunter is decent enough in arena right now. Though I’m not throwing myself back into the arena till hunter gets some much needed love lol or until I finish rebuilding my PvP set .. mmm honor grinding. Which now that I think about it I guess is the problem.. lol The hunters aren’t playing cause we’re out of tricks in arena again :/

Pet Scaling

“We think it’s probably time to let pets scale, to some extent, with resilience and spell pen.

The way pets scale from the master’s stats was implemented (on our side) in a slightly clunky way which made it difficult to add additional stats. In BC, it took some effort to kill a pet so it wasn’t a burning problem for us. In LK, we have bumped up pet health a few times, but we are thinking now that the balance will never work right without some crit mitigation. Pets will never scale right with gear as long as the master improves in ways that don’t benefit the pet.

We have a new way to let pets scale, and assuming it works, we should be able to give the pets scale with all relevant stats from the master, from hit to haste to crit. Some things will need to scale at 100%, since it’s silly to have your pet inherit part of your +hit.

No promises until you actually see it live, but that’s what we are thinking at the moment.” – Ghostcrawler

Ok so if you read this and was like “hooray!” We’re in the same boat. I love this. Pet scaling better would be awesome and makes complete sense. More survivability, more pet DPS translating to more DPS for us I wish they would’ve posted exactly how they want to scale it so we could get some theorycrafting done on it.. now that would be awesome

–In achievement news!–

Me, Sinclair, Qyuinn, and Cheetor went and spent the majority of the afternoon (3-4hrs)on Saturday farming normal MGT for the reputation to get exalted. Well as you can see we did it. There’s all the tabards and of course the achievement!

Yesak decided she wanted to be in the photo with us :p to show off her “of the Shattered Sun” title and to cover my name! lol Grats to all of us on the tabard and the achievement.. I feel all of your pain.. literally……

Kamiyama the Explorer! Many virtual miles traced and achievement points gained.

Finished up Kalimdor on Friday and while doing that snuck on the boat to Stormwind and Snagged the Fishing Diplomat on Saturday after farming all that SSO rep and in between doing OS25 I finished up the Eastern Kingdoms which led me to my explorer title! I finished in Alterac Mountains.. miles away from my projected STV .. but apparently I missed the mountains somehow on the way down from the plaguelands :/

Finally after 2 weeks of waiting The Ghostfish finally was available as a daily and was able to get Chasing Marcia .. though in the same fishing news I didn’t get to do the fishing tournament in Booty Bay due to traveling back home since I’ve been out of town:/ Will I ever get the “Salty” title!? /casually flips his Titanium Seal of Dalaran

–News of the Blog-O-Verse!–

Blizzcon tickets went on sell and just like before were sold out within about 30 minutes.. It’s pretty insane how many of us WoW players want to go isn’t it?? Anyway apparently there’s a game out for killing all the failocs from last year! Check out  the Failoc-alypse! Credit to Wow.com .. I didn’t try to buy tickets but everyone who did apparently saw this and that’s where I caught the news from.

Over at Auto-Shots Hesston has a pretty good video up of Thorim 10 man. Even if it is 10 man it shows what a hunter does in the tunnel and that mainly where we get stuck on that fight so if you need a video from the hunter perspective Hesston’s your man.

FINALLY!

Woooot finally I got a 2handed weapon!

We went into 10 man ulduar last night since 25 man raid didn’t make and I got a few easy achievements and as I said I got to get a 2handed staff which replaced my dual Hailstorms http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40491. I cant express enough how awesome it is to finally not be dual wielding. I gained Haste and over 100AP. Now the only upgrade I’m looking forward to is the staff that drops from XT since my guild isn’t doing hardmodes yet.

Well with that my score is bolstered to a mighty 3065! Lol >.> Yeh I know it may or not be impressive to some of you, but I’m trying my best to get that score up to make my character look all good!

Well since Uld 25 didn’t make and I got to do Uld 10 for the first time.. Since the guild got a second group going .. I was able to try out my marks raiding spec I’m going to be using and I have to say I was pretty pleased with my performance. My DPS was 4300 on Ignis and 3800 on Razorscale.. I was doing turrets and I was running to them with seconds to spare just to be safe. So I think that’s pretty decent for 10 man I had planned on taking some pics with me in action so I could show you my UI and everything, but I only got downed pictures which I’ll prob post if I do write ups on the boss. The reason I wanted to get a pic of my UI up is because in the coming posts at some point I want to talk about the addons I choose to use and how they help me do my job as DPS and how I feel about them. So here is a pic I took while I was out and about

Tonight is also our last night of raiding for this week till Monday so I’m really looking forward to attempts on Freya. The guild as a whole has come together in the last week and has pushed alot harder and put more effort into raiding than it has been since I joined, which I’m really proud of. In a perfect world Freya will go down tonight and I’ll be able to buy a Runed Orb with my conquest badges so I can start working toward Belt of Dragons(http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45553) or Boots of Living Scale(http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45562) (decided there’s no point to these since Boots of Renewed Flight are just as good) both currently BiS for the way my hunter is geared and I have all the mats for both em aside from the orbs :/ WTB nerf on coquest badge prices.. haha.

On a side note I can already feel me wanting to upgrade my blog to have hosting and stuff so I can use direct wowhead links instead of how I’m doing it.. It’ll bring a better feel to the blog I think.

Oh well I just got tugged into during Heroic UP while I was writing this so I’ll update this post later letting you all know how I’m doing on my to do list :p

Also I wouldn’t expect a post from me everyday. Even though on some days I feel particularly wordy and may post more than once. We’ll see how it all works out!

Kami’s first official Blog!

Hey everyone!

Welcome to my official WoW blog! I’ll be discussing everything from the class i play, Hunter, to patch notes, what’s going on in game with me and my guild, and well anything I decide I want to fill this space with!

First off I’d like to thank Hesston of http://www.auto-shots.net/ . He helped me find this place to start my blog for free so that I can get a feel of things before I venture off into buying hosting and playing with the super cool blog toys. I mean after all if something happens and I decide blogging isn’t really for me then I haven’t paid for all the expensive hosting yet have I.

So that you can all get to know me I might as well Introduce myself right? lol. Well for all blog purposes you can refer to me as Kami better known as Kamiyama of Garrosh-US Horde. I currently play a BE hunter http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Garrosh&n=Kamiyama spec’d Survival and dual spec’d Marks.  I’m a proud member of the guild <Revolution>! Currently 9/14 Ulduar (Shameless recruitment ftw)

I’ve been playing WoW for 3 years now starting in October 06 as a Human Pally. I’ve been everything from the scrubbish newbie to hardcore raider. I played my pally all through BC experiencing everything there was to do from Kara to SWP and then when WotLK launched I played him, a mage. and a hunter through 3d before a couple of friends had it out and Me, my gf, and a few others decided to reroll Horde. So this is where I found myself in my WoW gaming and I’m really enjoying it. Recently joining the Horde has opened up the game again for me. With all the new quests, lore figures, and even how some things are the same the game has changed completely for me seeing it through the eyes of the other side. Which is why I am here wanting to share my new found adventures with you all and what new content Blizzard is releasing for us!

In real life I’m a 22 yr old guy who spends his time hanging out with my friends and living with my GF. I love browsing the webs, watching anime, going to movies, reading, and everything in between. I’m currently waiting on the summer months to go by so I can get back into college to pursue my Psych degree

Well now that you know all about me I might as well share some recent wow news.

Tonight (May 27) Me and My guild downed Thorim! One of the watchers of Ulduar. The encounter itself is pretty awesome consisting of an arena fight with adds and a tunnel fight. A group of the raid needs to fight through. Hesston has a pretty good write up on all the watchers on his blog and I’m sure by the time most of you read this you will  all have done the fight or seen it in some incarnation or another, but here’s tank spots vid on it none the less for anyone interested
